Privacy Policy

ScentBase is private by default. Your exact Vault, private notes, wear history, ratings, and taste profile are not published. Social sharing is a separate choice that you control.

1. Information you provide

Depending on the features you use, ScentBase may process:

• Account identifiers from Sign in with Apple or Google, including an email address when the provider shares it.
• Your profile name, unique handle, profile photo, and optional location label.
• Your Vault, shelves, wishlist, tried fragrances, ratings, private notes, wears, sprays, compliments, and collection corrections.
• Onboarding choices, scent preferences, dislikes, sensitivities, recommendation feedback, searches, saves, and notification settings.
• Social content you choose to publish, including wear posts, captions, likes, follows, comments, saves, reports, blocks, and mutes.
• Device information needed for secure cloud sync and Apple push notification tokens when you enable notifications.

2. Early-access list and website

When you join the early-access list, we store your email address, the date and version of your consent, and limited campaign parameters from the page URL. We use this information to send ScentBase launch, TestFlight, product, and marketing updates. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing support@scentbase.app. We use Cloudflare to host and protect the website, verify Turnstile challenges, and store the waitlist. We do not store your IP address in the waitlist database.

3. Personalization and location

We use onboarding answers and meaningful activity—such as repeat wears, ratings, feedback, saves, and reasoned dislikes—to improve your recommendations. Location access is optional. When enabled, approximate local weather and season may help rank daily recommendations. You can deny or revoke location permission and continue using the app.

4. Service providers

Signed-in accounts use Supabase for authentication, database storage, file storage, synchronization, and server functions. Apple and Google process sign-in under their own privacy terms. Apple Push Notification service processes device tokens and notification delivery when enabled. Cloudflare provides website hosting, security, bot detection, and waitlist storage. These providers may process information only to provide their services and must protect it consistently with applicable law and their agreements with us.

5. Social and public information

If you enable Social, your chosen name, handle, photo, public collector summary, and content you post may be visible to other signed-in collectors. Your exact Vault, private notes, private wear history, ratings, and identity-linked taste profile remain private unless a feature clearly asks you to publish something.

6. Anonymous community learning

ScentBase may use de-identified, aggregated patterns to improve discovery. Aggregates are made available only after at least five distinct contributors qualify. They do not contain user IDs, handles, Vaults, notes, or individual wear history.

7. Retention, deletion, and your choices

We retain account data while your account is active and as needed for security, abuse prevention, legal obligations, and backup recovery. You can delete your account inside ScentBase under Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This removes account-owned cloud data and public user content, subject to limited records we must retain for legal or security purposes. You may also adjust notifications, disable Social, block or mute accounts, report content, recalibrate recommendations, or request help at support@scentbase.app.

8. Security, tracking, and children

We use access controls and security measures designed to prevent unauthorized access to private records. ScentBase does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app tracking. The service is intended for people age 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product or law changes and will revise the date above. For privacy questions, access requests, corrections, consent withdrawal, or deletion help, email support@scentbase.app.
